About Me
The fuller story — who I am, what I do, and why it matters to me.

Who I Am
I'm Hastings Kondwani — a music producer, artist manager, and software developer. I don't fit neatly into one category, and I've stopped trying to.
I believe the most interesting people and ideas live at intersections. My work across music and technology isn't a contradiction — it's a reflection of how I think: in systems, in patterns, in sounds, and in code.
I'm based in Malawi, building from here, for here and everywhere. I care about craft, intentionality, and creating things that last.
Music Production
Music is where it started. As a Hip Hop producer, I've had the privilege of shaping sounds for artists like Third Eye, Dark Virtue, MOQ, and Crispy Malawi, to name a few.
I approach production with patience and intentionality. I'm not chasing trends — I'm interested in sounds that feel honest, rhythms that hit hard, and arrangements that breathe. Whether it's a gritty boom-bap joint or a melodic trap production, the goal is the same: make something that resonates.
Artist Management
I work with artists because I understand both the creative and the business side. Managing talent is about more than scheduling and negotiation — it's about vision, strategy, and creating the conditions for great work to happen.
I help artists think long-term, build real audiences, and stay true to their voice while navigating an industry that often rewards conformity. The best management is invisible — the artist focuses on art, and the structure supports them.
Software Development
I build software because I love solving problems. Code is another creative medium — it's logic and imagination working together. I work primarily with modern web technologies: TypeScript, React, Next.js, and the broader JavaScript ecosystem.
I care about clean architecture, thoughtful user experiences, and building things that work well and feel good to use. I don't write code to impress — I write code to ship things that matter.
Philosophy & Perspective
I believe in doing fewer things well rather than many things poorly. I believe the best work comes from a place of calm confidence, not anxious ambition. I believe in showing up consistently, learning publicly, and building with integrity.
This website exists because I wanted a place to think out loud. Not to impress anyone. Not to impress anything. Just to share what I see, what I learn, and what I make — and maybe connect with people who see the world similarly.
